Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites™, presented by Target, was created by the Minnesota Children’s Museum using a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services to create an exhibit that was early literacy based and nurtured creativity and imagination in its visitors.

The Storyland exhibit contains scenes from favorite picture books, including:

• The Tale of Peter Rabbit


• The Snowy Day


• Chicka Chicka Boom Boom


• Abuela


• If You Give a Mouse a Cookie


• Tuesday


• Where’s Spot?

Other interactive parts include:

• Writing and Drawing Stations


• Greetings from Storyland E-Postcard Station


• Word Play Station in the Greetings from Storyland area

Storyland highlights and engages the six pre-reading skills identified by the Public Library Association and Association for Library Service to Children: disposition to read, print awareness, letter knowledge, sound awareness, vocabulary, and narrative skills and comprehension.

Going beyond current Centers for Disease Control (CDC) regulations for museum and attraction cleanliness, the Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites™ exhibit staff has your safety and security in mind.  Because of this, we have put in place the following procedures during your visit to the exhibit:

• Establishing timed sessions.


• Limiting number of guests in order to achieve social distancing of six (6) feet or more.


• Sanitation stations and disposable gloves will be provided to all visitors.


• Exhibit stations will be closed for cleaning after each session.


• All visitors must bring and wear facial masks in order to enter and while inside the exhibit.

Please reserve a date and time from available sessions.  Each session is 50 minutes which will allow for cleaning and sanitizing before the next session begins.  Number of guests per session is limited.
