Step back in time to the Age of the Dinosaurs on Grapevine Vintage Railroad’s Dinos on the Tracks special excursion. This unique experience will include pre-boarding storytelling at the Historic Cotton Belt Depot, and riders will get to meet dinosaurs on board this 90-minute excursion. Your ticket also includes admission to the ‘Be the Dinosaur’ exhibit at the Grapevine Tower Gallery and the Perot Museum Pop-up Dinosaur Fossil Exhibit.

The pop-up exhibit will be at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad's Cotton Belt Depot on July 10th to showcase fossils discovered in Grapevine.

In September 2019, Murray Cohen—a commercial pilot and Perot Museum volunteer—was fossil hunting near Lake Grapevine when he found a two-inch jawbone in the sand. He brought it to the museum, where researchers initially thought it belonged to a crocodile. Instead, it turned out to be a new species of dinosaur.

Cohen, an avid fossil hunter, often visits the site and donates his finds to the museum for study. In recognition of his discovery, the new plant-eating dinosaur was named Ampelognathus coheni—a rare herbivore for North Texas.
