PARKING ALERT: Please note that GrapeFest - A Texas Wine Experience, presented by Bank of the West is taking place today, Saturday, September 14, 2024. Parking and overall demand within Historic Downtown Grapevine are increased during this time, so please plan accordingly to ensure you have enough time to park and catch your excursion. During GrapeFest, follow the signs to designated parking areas throughout Grapevine. GVRR guests will use your mobile or printed tickets to enter the festival grounds. You will not need to purchase festival admission. The closest entrance to the depot is the south festival gate near the intersection of Dallas Rd. and Main St.
Step back in time with a nostalgic ride on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad! The railroad is serviced by four vintage locomotives, including "Puffy" the 1896 steam locomotive, the oldest continuously operating steam engine in the South, "Vinny," a 1953 GP-7 diesel locomotive and two 1958 FL9 diesel locomotives. Puffy is currently out of service for restoration. Most weekends throughout the year, the Grapevine Vintage Railroad travels along the Historic Cotton Belt Route between Grapevine and the Historic Stockyards in Fort Worth. Once we arrive in the Historic Stockyards, riders have time to explore the Stockyards before re-boarding for the return to Grapevine.
